Shirin Anderson

Like most children, who are all naturally artistic, I started off with crayon drawings. In addition to landscape paintings, my paternal grandmother worked as a commercial artist painting pictures of shoes for catalogues. Art classes at school gave students a taste in many media. This inspired work in drawing, painting, printmaking, mosaic making and hand built ceramics.
Art school at University of Arizona followed. Currently I attend hand building ceramic classes at Studio Channel Islands in Camarillo.
For inspiration I draw on many sources. Since moving here I have been  especially interested in California native flora and fauna
